Parent Coaching Services Watford

About Katherine

About Katherine, I studied at the renowned Chiltern Nursery and Training College before deciding to work closely with families and their children for many years providing parent coaching advice as a skilled Childcare Practitioner. It was through my training experience and my own success stories, I noticed a gap that parents often lacked simple, effective guidance to confidently communicate and manage their children’s behaviour.

In 2015, Katherine established a dedicated coaching service to support parents, teachers, and anyone involved in caring for their kids. She founded Katherine Elizabeth, a personalised approach to parenting solutions that helps adults identify the root causes of their challenges and provides practical, easy-to-follow guidance to feel empowered and improve family life.

Bespoke Coaching for Parents

Our parent coaches will provide you with one-to-one guidance to align with your values and family life giving you the tools to set clear boundaries and structure your child needs. A bespoke programme is put in place to help you identify and address the root cause of your child’s poor behaviour with clear and structured advice.

We work with you to identify your goals and develop a parenting plan that is tailored to your unique situation and family dynamics. Offering parent coaching support, we then spend time in person with both you and your children in your normal routine, observing and providing feedback. During our visits, we usually spend three days with your family and stay at your house.

  • We spend three days with you and your family at your home in Watford
  • Our parent coaching experts fit into your daily family lives and join in with activities
  • We identify the root causes of your problems
  • Helps your child to trust their feelings, regulate their own emotions and solve problems
  • Together we build strategies necessary to tackle them

I was worried about how things would be once Charlotte left but I stuck with the advice and now a month later our house remains calm and we have regained the control that parents should have.
Amy, London
As a Mum I felt embarrassed having to ask a stranger for help. What would she think of us failing and not being able to control our child? I spoke to Katherine for 15 minutes and she explained what the problem was.
Gemma and Paul, Stafford
Our household is a much calmer, positive and happier place. My eldest child is now thriving at school and his teachers can’t believe the turnaround he has made.

How long do you spend with each family?

Three days is usually about right. This allows us to really get to know you and your children, and to provide the best possible support.

Where do you stay during your home visits?

We usually stay with the families during our visits. Occasionally that is not appropriate and we organise local accommodation in Watford.

How does it actually work so that you see normal, everyday life?

More often than not, parents will simply tell their children that they have a friend coming to stay. We fit in with that, sitting and chatting or joining in with whatever activities are planned.

I am concerned that we will all act differently with somebody new there and you may not get to see the issues we are facing.

This is a very common concern. We are always aware that, certainly at the beginning of our visits, everyone will be acting slightly differently. However we know exactly what we’re looking for and even if everyone is on their best behaviour, we can always spot the issues. It is our job to see what we need to – often the things that parents are missing.

How long does it take for your parenting solutions to make a difference?

Firstly, each family is different and there is no ‘usually’. Our role is to identify the root causes of your problems and build with you the strategies necessary to tackle them. It is often a case of changing parenting habits which in turn have an effect on children’s habits. For behaviours to change and become embedded for the long term might perhaps take 5-8 weeks. Nonetheless, there is almost always some discernible improvement over the course of our visits. To keep you on track we are at the other end of the phone for as long as you need us.

Can the process still work if I am separated from my partner and they are not on board with having somebody coming in from the outside?

Yes, absolutely. Whilst consistency is important and certainly helpful, it is still possible for us to work with one parent to tackle the issues arising when the children are with them.
